Player Valuation: £5m
The 40-year-old former Manchester United striker met his new squad at the club's training ground on Thursday.

He was then taken to the stadium and unveiled to the media. He joins from Norwegian side Molde FK and replaces Malky Mackay.

Solskjaer said: "It is a fantastic challenge. Cardiff are ready to take the next step up. I hope I can help them."

I thought it was a bad move at first, but in a way he can't go wrong.

If he succeeds, everyone will think he's a genius. If he fails, people will say it's Tan's fault.

He's been linked with every Premier League job for the last two years. We'll actually get to see if he's any good now.

Ole is the right manager for Cardiff, but Cardiff are the wrong team for Ole (if you get my meaning).

I imagine he will enjoy some success there, and then hop on over to Utd to take over from Moyes in a year and a half.

This. Probably better for him than the WBA job. At least the WBA board live in the real world.

The one thing that kills a manager off quickly is taking over a promoted team in the premier league. If you look in the championship managers dont get supported and are sacked, but when are signed up by other teams who perhaps try to meet them in the middle they are appreciated to what they bring to the role. Some work out some don't, as is the way of football. But looking back over the premier league in the past 10 years or so, how many managers have taken clubs down from this position and had their reputation tarnished, forcing them to drop down to the lower leagues again? Mackaay, Atkins, McDermott to name a few.

I hope Oli does well at cardiff, he has always struck me as a manager who has a good reputation without actually achieving anyhting of note so far. He probably did a good job at his club so i can see the attraction for lower league teams like cardiff. I think this is the benchmark for Cardiff city now, southhamption scaked their man and improved, has Mr Tan done the same at his club?

Good luck to him. Norwegian managers haven't really done well in the Premier League or England at all, unlike our scandinavian neighbours.
Solskjær is different though, unlike Egil Olsen, Henning Berg and Ståle Solbakken I actually hope OGS does well.
He could improve Cardiff, and they should be more positive.
