Older players more fearful

Basically kids play with more freedom, hence why United look so revitalised this season. The theory tends to work for us too, generally. Barkley has stood out this year, whilst Coleman was last season's revelation. Maybe playing the likes of Gueye and Vellios a bit more regularly will actually pep us up and make us a bit more adventurous?

Kids also are stupid sometimes as Wenger is finding out.

I suppose the counter argument to that is Barcelona, whose players (especially Xavi and Puyol) get better the older they get.

You need a mixture of youth and experience to win things, everyone knows that.

United's average age on Sunday was something like 23. Their most senior starters were Evra (30), Young (26), Rooney (25) and Nani (24). Ofcourse Arsenal also had a very young side out too, but they lacked the experience of United. Jenkinson, Traore and Coquelin have only had 14 Premier League starts between them.

I suppose it could be argued that Wenger's young squad made much of the running last season despite being assembled much more cheaply than Chelsea and Man City's sides. I'm not saying that we should immediately dispense with the old guard but things have got a bit tired and predictable. Give Baxter or Vellios a start and they won't stop running until the final whistle. Maybe it would reinvigorate us to push a few more kids through?
