Older cheaper or young expensive players?

Our most successful manager bought loads of 'over the hill' players! Imagine the meltdown on here if we bought a Paul Power type player tomorrow?

It depends mostly on position and players fitness.

For example John Terry played his best season in his life 2014/2015 at the age of 34 - possible? Possible.

So sometimes just dont look at the age. If player is class he can do a job even when he's 38. I think Frank Lampard would still play good in the Premier League.

I've always thought centre backs and 'keepers actually get better with age and experience. Arguably these most important positions can usually be picked up the cheapest, I can currently think of only two obvious anomalies to the age thing in Ferdinand and De Gea

Elsewhere on the pitch is pretty much you get what you pay for.

I don't give a monkey's what age a player is as long as they improve the team.

Koeman appears to want players who will make an immediate impact rather than building for the future . I'm all for that.

How much have we wasted over the years on players like Spencer through to Rodriguez ?

All those £1m add up you know.

I believe having the ability to buy in form, established players regardless of age and without undue concern as to their sell on value is absolutely one of the most important benefits of our new financial position.

In order to be the club we want to be, we absolutely have to be willing to take on players who are at their peak right now. Some of them will naturally be older.

Williams is an excellent example. To me, by any measure he would be a great buy and in its own way the move is something of a statement of intent.

Young ? Old ? ..... Don't care anymore ! Sign ANYONE, Everton !!!!!! Aaaaaarrrrgggghhhhhh
Same old Everton and same old Everton fans. Put 20 Everton fans in a lifeboat and half will start drilling holes in the bottom of the boat to let water out, while the other half will write chapter and verse, arguing over placement of the holes. After the tragedy hits the back pages, Everton management will ask top dollar for the used drill bits. LOL. With a new manager, talent director and mega investment, this squad looks the same as it did the previous 3 seasons. So find us a player like Paul Power anytime. And agree on a fee for Stones and Lukaku. And play plenty of the kids. And don't spend too much money so we can keep Bill in Fish & Chips. And don't get relegated. And build a new stadium. And give me that drill, wont you ?
