Old Photos Of Where You Live

….not a bad place to go, Matey.
Yes he walked in shouted - Howdy to his mate & had a stroke aged 74 - hw spoke in an old Lancashire accent left school at 11 years old - retired at 65 years old down the Cronton coal pit - he would have lived a lot longer if he had not spat his blood pressure pills on his coal fie behind his daughters back - he was a right lovely character 74 back then was a good innings life wise .....

he smoked woodbines from the age of 11 - no filters on them .....

Used to stop in there every Friday night around 6ish on the way home 1991 to 94
It was always called Caseys evidently after a long standing Landlord from many years ago - called that early as the early 1970's when I sneaked in there for a pint with my mates from the under 18 youth team after a training session pre season as the barman was pulling the pints about 8 of us in the tiny bar ... he asked where have you all come from & the lad at the front stated the church under 18s youth team up the road - he smiled & served us - as we glared our mate out :D 14p for a pint of bitter-

15p in the nice lounge on the other side of the bar - almost 6 pints for a £ sounds cheap - I was earning £9-15 p - plus £ 3.00 keep for my keep - plus bus fares to work etc left me with about £3.00 to spend per week .....
