I’m not the greatest fan or user of Facebook, but one thing I like is the lost Liverpool pubs group. So I thought I’d start our own here. Also any old photos of Liverpool, along the lines of the excellent Angel Cake from twitter.

I’ll start with my original local, where I had my first pint, The Clarence on Utting Avenue/Cherry Lane, sadly now demolished.

Won't be significant for anyone else like, but on Old Hall Street is the Cotton Exchange building.
Now as a kid, my grandad was the caretaker there for many years. He lived in the flat at the top. I spent a day every week staying there with my grandparents and once all the office staff went home I had the run of the whole building.
Dribbling a footy around 6 floors and through the basements.
Only in hindsight now do I realise the historical significance of the building and it truly was / is an incredible building.
The Echo had a piece on it a while back and they found some of the old stuff in those basements.
