This is classic!! the way it was filmed using mirrors is fantastic

Actually just thought of another good one - the original 'Woman in Black' from the 1980's, I watched it as a kid and never fully recovered from it! Saw it the other day and it is still very effective I think.

As for The Exorcist my mates brother went to see it when it first came out, he was that disturbed by it he was off work for a month freaked out!

Anyone ever seen Peeping Tom from 1960 ? weird disturbing stuff for that time period
 

It's all in context.

As a child I was terrified of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, at around 14 John Carpenter's The Thing was the height of horror.

Early 20's I watched Ringu the Japanese horror and it really did scare me.

I saw parts of that on regular TV here years ago and it scared the crap out of me. What was I thinking?
