Just been reading some coments from Arsenal fans about their loss. The one that amused me the most was - "Things like this happen when your better players get taken by other, richer clubs."

I can understand completely, I mean if a richer club came along and forced you to sell your most creative midfield player there would be no way you could get through to the 6th round of the cup.

Arsenal just do not have a good squad and arsene is adamant on not spending more than they make. Next season I think they will finally start spending and get a couple of good players. I don't think Arteta is doing very well for them anyways and i still think he never got back to his old self after those injuries.
 
World football.

They can't pay top wages so will struggle to keep what top players they have, let alone get more of the top 3% in.

I'm sure Arteta took a wage cut to go and play CL football. He said it would be his last chance and it looks like he was right. Arsenal won't be playing CL footie for a while

Arteta started well at Arsenal but has been seriously gash in the last few games i've seen. Like us Arsenal have sold quality and not adequately replaced them so are suffering.

Unlike us they spent a lot of money in August. They spent it on ineffective players.

I have no sympathy for Wenger or any Arsenal fan. They had their time at the top and now it is over.

I'm sure SKY ARSENAL will be looking to put together a program debating which players should leave their teams to make Arsenal better - because of SKY's fetish for this non-existent 'divine right' to be at the top.

They should be asking why Arshavin has gone from being the lad who scored 4 at Anfield to the miserable soul in the dug-out.
 
I don't think Arteta has been that bad, he's got a few goals and Arsenal has been doing alright in the league as of late. The problem is that he's been paired with Rosicky who in my opinion is just absolutely terrible. I don't know why Wenger doesn't put Arshavin in Rosicky's position. Arshavin isn't a winger and a depressed Arshavin is 100X the player Rosicky is.
 
Classic winning horse trainers are those with the expensive bloodstock and succesful managers are those with the expensive squads.

We vastly overstate the impact of a manager on success. If you want to predict where a side will finish in the league never mind who is managing.....look at the wage bill. Over time the best players who command the highest wage will win more often than not unless hopelessly managed.

Arsene is no more able to escape that reality than I would be if at Arsenal or Davie Moyes is here and Arsenal are simply unable to compete with the free spending sugar daddy outfits. Join the club goonaz!
