Infairness what is there too like? Hes a complete cockhugger.

just totally dislike him, his attitude to others, his having to swear all the time on telly, i can swear with the best of them but not everyone wants to be sworn at and he doesnt care. when i go about my work i dont f and blind to people as they could be offended.

Sorry mate, but [Poor language removed] is mandatory in the scouse handbook. No offence like, but its all I hear when I go around Liverpool and the surrounding areas. To use that as a reason to not like someone.

Bottom line is Gordon Ramsay has had a successful business, and is still having a successful business. He does this with his no bullshit attitude, which to be honest is an absolute refreshing way of going about something.

When some cock decides to call himself an Executive Chef and has a car with a number plate that says A1 CHEF - but is actually a packet sauce chef, well then that deserves a dressing down.

I love the way he knows how things should be done and he does it. He saves businesses money by helping them cut out all the [Poor language removed] and hype, and just do it the simple and effective way. Not surprisingly those who don't follow his advice tend to fail.

As a businessman I think he's spot on. Same with Alan Sugar, no nonsense.

At the end of the day he's a businessman and he's not out to blow smoke up anyone's arse, but he does take time out each year to run the London Marathon for charity - ten years in a row I think.

Times have changed. As others said parents got their kids the hot-items every christmas. Just now the presents are more high-tech. Get over it.

It doesn't effect you so why should you guys let it bother you the reactions of some kids getting the one of the hottest presents out there.

And I will leave you with this (and I hope you laugh at it):

Entensity.net - Media

It does bother me though that companies are targetting young children, some as young as 2 for their products. Nintendo and Microsoft ought to be ashamed of themselves. And I will also say Apple to, to an extent anyway.

Children are not getting outside in the fresh air, doing things I used to do when I was a kid. Its all going to end up with fat kids and fat people, just like in Wall-e.

Its a bit rich though isn't it, all this scorn for companies targeting children and making them want certain items.

How long before companies are trying to put guns in the hands of children? will the governments step in then.... oh wait.

I work for a company that forces its image onto children. Christ when I was 10 all I could remember was Sooty, Sweep and Bungel and Zippy. Children at the moment have about 20 channels on the fecking tv. You can't tell me that's pro-active.

I disagree with the Ramsay thing. He is in a business with his father-in-law and he creates good things with his books, programmes and restaurants. The reason he gives his kids one present for Christmas is so they learn to appreciate what they get. I'm sure these kids who got a WII also got a load of other stuff, but probably couldn't give a [Poor language removed] about.

When I was younger one year I got a handed down subutteo set, folks had fallen on hard times and it was a cheap option for me, but I loved it.

On a side note I find it pretty worrying that we are forced to use a £100+ toy to keep a child quiet. I think it just makes it worse in the long run.

And how many kids do you have Ghost?

Try having a couple on a road-trip screaming their lungs out for 4 hours on end and tell me you won't thrust a DS into their hands.

I know for a fact a score of parents who wish they had access to that tech when their kids were young.

I know first hand mate, I know how much of a pacifier a DS is. Trouble is the kids who scream are screaming for the DS, because they get it at an early age. Its just the way its marketed towards children.

Some may say that giving in just for the peace and quiet is the best way. Many experts in child psychology would disagree.

But Dylan, I do sympathise I really do. Trouble is what if you have two children? three? you need to spend £300+ on games consoles.

This was more my point...

Ain't spending no $300 on a console for the kids. Am spending it on me, and they get to play on it, with tight restrictions on frequency and time, as well as content.

My son is lucky to get an hour every other day on one of the Lego games (Batman, Star Wars). And we use the Xbox for DVD watching.

And IF we get a Wii, it will be for me and the wife. Again the kids will get use of it.

And for the travel problem, Ethan has a Leapster, which only has educational games on it. Of course, I can't stand anything he plays on it, as all it does is teach reading and maths and stuff like that. No killing, maiming or sex anywhere to be seen!
