Odemwingie has had a meltdown

No neither am I, and my point was merely saying I could do exactly the same. It's a cheap shot, and one which I find slightly bizarre to be honest.

Your drop a bomb comment is also quite offensive and one which makes you look a bit of a fool to be honest and not funny in the slightest.

We got a biter! The internet wins! Again... http://m.guardian.co.uk/commentisfree/2006/jun/02/comment.charliebrooker

He mentions that we have given him no prizes
Judging from where he wanted to move the "prize" he is after is being relegated.

We like to call them mercenaries but that's not really a good insult or especially accurate. Largely they are insecure. One of the main ways they "keep score" about their relative worth is by their wages. We should label "wantaways" like this insecure or even cowards -- likely wouldn't make any difference of course but it's certainly more accurate and might sting a little more.

If coward seems a little over-dramatic remember mercenary means you kill people for money so it's not like we aren't already in that zone. Also mercenary sounds a bit Rambo and I'm not sure your average footballer would even read it as an insult on the surface -- coward is pretty universally an insult (although you'd have to be careful you aren't considered racist if you say it to a French player).

A truly confident person has so much faith in their ability they would believe they can achieve great things almost anywhere. They might get worn down after a decade but they don't quit after a year or two just because it's hard. These people are insecure plain and simple.

He's a mercenary, but most footballers are. The only difference between Odemwingie and, say, Steven Pienaar is that Odemwingie is quite obviously thick in terms of PR and aired his dirty laundry in public. Why hate him? He's done a job for you, and he wants a new career change and you'll get a fee for him.
His very public dissatisfaction with his current team hardly puts them in a position of strength when it comes to fee negotiation. He has surely cost them a couple of million which for a team like them (or us) is pretty significant. So I don't think its unreasonable to (sports) hate him because of his actions.

... and FWIW Pienaar aired some of his dirty laundry in public to engineer a move back to us. That wasn't financially motivated though so it seems less unseemly.

His actions were indefensible as were his comments this morning by suggesting that we signed him without permission. I wouldn't trust anything that comes out the mouth of this prostitute. Unfortunately, we're stuck with him but with him being sent off from training I would assume his future here is bleak. Our chairman suggested it was a a matter of principles which effectively translated means that we wouldn't be bullied by QPR and their mega money and Odemwingie and his childish immature antics.
