Carmines is a really good italian restaurant to eat at, fairly close to times square on 44th St I think. It gets really busy so you might have to wait up to an hour at the bar before you get a table but it is well worth the wait, be warned though, the food comes in 'family' portions so you don't need to order that much!

Shame about Madison Square Garden, I was luckily enough to watch the a basketball match and then an ice hockey match the next night, really awesome atmosphere. If you can get tickets for the Crown at the statue of liberty get them - they only let a limited number of people up there a day and the crown tickets are only a few dollars more than the normal ticket, it is well worth it. Enjoy!!

Make sure you never buy tickets for anything from people who are selling them outside, outside the empire state for example, they say it's cheaper but it never is if you go in to the desk and ask what the prices there are.
And houston is pronounced House-ton.

Everyone has told me not to bother going in the statue of liberty, it isnt even that tall. Swerve it and just go on the boat tour around instead.

off the the big apple next month for five days never been before, so looking out for tours, meals , things to do any idea,s , wanted to see madison square gardens but its shut so thats one off my list.
Empire state building day and night fantastic views!
If your going to see a show on broadway get your tickets from a ticket booth in the centre of time square you should get them at 50% off price and normally great tickets.
Central Park, the Dakota Building(john lennons flat).
Statue of liberty. Enjoy mate!

Even better than that is to 'accidentally' get caught cracking one off when the maid comes around.

If you get a proper dirty one, she might even suggest she finishes you off for $20.

Well, if you live in F*CKING PORNO MOVIE LAND.

Ha ha class. Wish i lived in porno movie land sometimes. Boy that would be something! That thought will keep me entertained while I go fix the hot tub for the busty blonde twins next door.

anywere near by to nyc thats worth a look, want to see a little bit of a diffrent usa than just the city?

You may want to head out on the LIRR (Long Island Railroad) to an area like Port Jefferson...it's a bit of a trek (about an hour and half-two hour train ride from Penn Station in Manhattan) and a four minute taxi ride to restaurants/waterfront but is a nice village on the water. I grew up in the next town over. If you're looking for something a bit closer, you may want to check out either Huntington or Cold Spring Harbor. Hope this helps and enjoy the journey

ta mate, will check, them out, is dc far from nyc?

4-4 1/2 hr bus ride some of the buses have wi-fi too (and as a extra bonus some of the bus drivers even have driver's licences too!!). If you go to Chinatown (in Manhattan just follow the smell) the buses usually run 24hrs/day, there are no real schedules you just buy a 1st come 1st serve ticket. The buses drop you off in Chinatown in DC is right next to the Capital, and Smithsonian. The zoo is a 10min subway ride, even though its free its probably the best zoo in the country. The muesums/zoo close at 5-6pm so you have to get up early if you want to go.

Also when you get on a long distance bus you'll realize why we all drive cars.
