Now the dust has settled

TBH, I wasnt arsed who won the PL, but the way Citeh did it in the last seconds, was remarkable, and at the time, I thought, fair play. Best team, doubled their closest rivals, played some great stuff, quite like Mancini, etc etc.

But now the dust has settled, I am quite depressed about the consequence of it. Forget this Financial Fair Play shoite, those clubs will work a way around it, not just Chelsea, Citeh, but also Barca & Real Madrid. They will just give 2 fingers to UEFA, leave their leagues, and set up their own league with the Milans, Utd, Bayern, Juve and so on.

The UAE, or whoever owns Citeh, will not be dictated to by UEFA, other than paying lip service to them. They want their "project" in a global market, and if UEFA threaten that, they will all pack up, and take their ball home.

It is not surprising that the richest clubs tend to win most things, but when their ability to retain their dominance is challenged, we all know who will win. Money talks.

Sky deal up for grabs next year I think. Another 4 years, then break away of top/richest clubs from several domestic leagues is seriously on the cards.

i'm glad city won the league, two or three years ago they were no bigger a club than Sunderland so it gives us hope of being in that position one day and realistically the only way either of our clubs is gunna win the league in the forseeable future is by having a huge influx of cash. The league has been loosely decided by money since I can remember anyway so it's not as if there has been a huge change in the game.

Although I find it unlikely to ever happen, the prospect of a super league with the richest clubs wouldn't disappoint me at all. We wouldn't be in it, Everton, Liverpool and Newcastle wouldn't be in it. There are plenty of massive clubs that would still participate in the league and quite frankly I wouldn't miss the likes of Arsenal, City, Chelsea and Man U. As far as I see it, the only way football is ever going to get back to the game it once was when it revolved around local players who play for the love of the game (not in my lifetime btw) instead of the money is if something like this happened and even then it would still be a far cry from that and would probably just resemble a glorified version of the championship, still with a huge amount of money coming in from Sky or any of the other tv companies.

To summarise football is sh.it and I hate it

Chelsea and now City - bought 4 of the last 8 titles. Nothing whatsover to do with football or trading on performance and that does make it different...Blackburn with Jack Walker's cash was the prototype, but these two clubs have just magnified it by a factor of a hundred.

It's ridiculous and for the first time I'm begining to sit up and take note of these FFP rules...although I know they'll probably just reinforce the present elite, at least there's a recognition of how outrageous this all is.

it's a shame that this is the case but the only way either Sunderland or Everton will challenge for the title in the future is either for one of us to have a Man City style turnaround in fortunes or for the league to completely implode and for football to go back to square one which is something I see as being impossible due to the media influence on football in the UK. Personally I'm happy for the real Man City fans who have followed their team in the lower leagues to have seen their team win the title. Something they won't have expected to ever see again and many will never have seen. I'm in the same position as many of those fans will have been, seeing their team win the square root of fuc.k all in their lifetime. I'd rather see a club like that win the league than the likes of man u, liverpool or arsenal whose fans are bred into believing they're somehow deserving of success.

I've seen Everton win two titles mate. I can guarantee those lads you mentioned who followed City prior to the Sheik tipping up handing them a billion wont have had the same feeling I had back in 85 and 87. Five minutes of delirium maybe, but nowhere near the satisfaction levels of winning it the honest way.
