10/11/17 TWAIN CRUSH DAY
A lot of knee jerking and predictable Moyes out threads/polls after yesterday. I understand people's frustration - I was swearing and shouting as well but won't buy into all this crap about everything being doom and gloom and we need to change everything.

To summarise yesterday:

We took advantage of a lucky break to go ahead and were then the better team for the rest of the first half. Predictably they came out blazing in the second but I felt we had started to control the game again when Distin made his mistake. From that point on we lost belief and they gained it. We looked vulnerable down the flanks and Coleman did nothing except foul when he came on to help address this which allowed them the chance to score the winner. Even when it looked like DM was going to bring on Hibbo with the scores level I wasn't spitting - Cahill was terrible when he dropped back and I imagine that Neville would have moved into a holding role in the middle - as we still had 1 sub left for an attacking change.
They scored and we folded. End of.

Now the good bit.

We are 7th in the league and got to a cup semi final. Not bad for a season which started with us selling our playmaker and 2 of our 3 frontline strikers on deadline day ant not replace them.

Since January our play has been largely excellent (Unfortunately they 2 times it hasn't has been against the RS).

We have signed a genuine class finisher for 5 million and will carry a genuine goal threat next season.

Fellaini has signed a new contract.

I know that there are deep, deep flaws in our club but it is OUR club and we are not Koppites.

This season was a trying one but there is the core of a cracking side here especially if we pimp out the cleaners or youth team enough to get the cash to buy Pienaar back.

Keep the faith people - COYB

Its only a knee jerk if its a one off and people are calling for his head. look through the archives its the same every season. its not a knee jerk people are fed up of him.

We had one shot at their 3rd goalie. No chances created at all, Jelavic only got in for his goal because of a lucky bounce off a defender.

The football we play is negative, safety first, hoofball dross.

I was hoping we could see the bigger picture beyond the semi here ....

your right what your saying pal-still very raw for most fans a.t.m the bigger picture for me was wed beat liverpool go on and have a good go at winning the final. yet again our players/manager let the fans down-dont know the reasons never will. but we really need to change something next time we play them in my opinion.

We just don't have the players to cope with pressure imo.

Those type of player cost big bucks

the odd player like that will come along on a free (drenthe) a big match player, moyes had to take the good with the bad with him, the sport is about winning not getting along and being pals. Im not on about what's gone on recently with him because nobody knows the full story, but drenthe should have been given a hell of a lot more game time that he has this season, and on a free should be snapped up without even having to think about it. If he has turned up for training late etc. he should be rightly disciplined, yes, and of course there should be some line drawn when enough is enough but i bet some things he does are blown up by moyes way bigger than they should, and something a more favoured player of his would have got away with no doubt. I honestly don't know why moyes got the player in in the first place, he was never going to like him, the same with bilyaletdinov, he had a certain class about him but one mistake and he was subbed, whereas players ala neville and cahill make a lot of mistakes whilst staying on the pitch because they are favoured. We dont have the resources to buy players with the talent of drenthe but also consistency, these players play for some of the best clubs in the world. You just gotta let them get out on that pitch shackle-free, and if they have a bad game, so be it...move onto the next one, none of this make sure u defend crap
