Always a risk taking on an old boy - they'll either get promoted or finish rock bottom. The squad has it in them and I think he will give them the motivation they need to at least make the playoffs.

God knows we need to banish the ghost of Pierre van Hooijdonk from Goodison sooner or later!

Not sure Pearce is the right choice but I hope he does well.

Well Pearce would have been to appease the fanbase as he had club links
