If there is news, than don't say nothing, keep quiet. Spare us the boring crap.

Yes I am talking about this [Poor language removed] boatman who faked his own death. Surely there are more important things to report. What about that house with the bodies? How about the state of foreign affairs in Iraq or Afghanistan. Surely there must be something.

But no, we keep harping on about this **** who thought he could beat the system by faking his own death, and then his buck teeth bitch who lied to her own kids. This is the kind of thing my missus reads in Love It, so why the [Poor language removed] is it headline news all the time.

BBC News - Canoeist remanded in custody

Yeah we know, that was what happened 2 days ago. I can just see the headlines tomorrow.

Canoeist still in custody!

Go away you silly little man,

Ghost: Absolutely spot on, I have just said the same thing in the car. I dont give a flying [Poor language removed] about it, its the state of our media Im worried about.

Well a quick visit the The Times website has allured my fears that its all crap. But the BBC should be more dynamic with there news gatherings.

But then again its just been on Radio 2 about this guy, and whether or not it is the governments fault that he has felt the need to disappear and have a fresh start. Its all [Poor language removed] up. He committed a crime, end of story. Lets move on, isn't there a killing somewhere we can report on?

Back to the thread, (Jeez some [peolpe):P

Could not agree more Ghost, that guy tried to fiddle £25,000 and gave himself up, possibly in the hope that the idiots running our [Poor language removed] media will give him twenty times that for his crap story. There are people in the city cheating us out of that amount hourly. I hope this snow moves to Middlesbrough and freezes their balls off:lol:

If it turns out he's been whoring, gambling and had a few close shaves regarding being found out during the last 5 years i can see someone turning this into a film.
As for it not being newsworthy, well at least it knocks Paris hilton, Amy, the rehab girl, The Beckam's and so forth off the front pages.

I don't tend to watch the news on tv these days anyway, far too dumbed down. Even serious subjects are usually treated far too simplistically. And that's the BBC, ITV, sheesh, lets not go there.

Newsnight tends to be better although even they're restricted by the length of the show from exploring any issue in great depth.

Personally I reckon this Darwin chap is on the government pay-roll and they've cooked up this yarn to get poor Gordon off of the front pages.

You'd love FOX News over here Ghost. They cut to a car chase (usually in LA) about every few hours.

Bill, this was no chase, he gave himself up and the media disappear up their backsides over it, he'll make a fortune after receiving a suspended sentence, all because of this hype. I love a good shoot out on the box but these reporter who cover matters aren't brave enough, they all failed the war correspondents course.

Oh I know.

I was referring more to what is really "news" these days and what is sensationalism and hype.

I love FOX but I wish they'd stick with more relevant news stories and dispense with the media hype.

However I don't want them to completely cut out all the car chases, just show the really good ones. :0
