Nothing But the Best:
Everton 2-1 Chelsea/Everton 3-2 Man United

When the fixture list for the 2009-10 Premier League season was published Evertonians looked at the month of February with some trepidation.

Amongst other tough-looking fixtures were Goodison clashes with Chelsea and Manchester United.

The Everton record against both sides made for unimpressive reading but this time around The Toffees proved too strong for their high-flying opponents and Goodison was treated to two memorable home wins.

First up, Chelsea took the lead at Goodison but Louis Saha took the bull by the horns and scored two fine goals to turn the game Everton’s way.

Then ten days later, Sir Alex Ferguson’s Manchester United also scored first when they came to Goodison but a Diniyar Bilyaletdinov blockbuster and late goals from young substitutes Dan Gosling and Jack Rodwell gave Everton another fantastic win.

Re-live those two great performances on this fabulous Official Everton DVD and enjoy watching two title-chasing teams being put to the sword at Goodison Park…

What's the problem?

If you think any other club in the premier league doesn't have similar tat for sale, you're living in la la land. If there's a market and the club make a profit, then it helps (in however small a way) Moyes and his squad. that should be the sole aim of the off-field activities: providing funds for player purchases/wages.

The only consideration regarding quality should be does it detract from the "Everton Brand" to the extent that our reputation suffers and in the long term we lose money? This comes nowhere near that, so I repeat: What's the problem?

If you don't like it, don't buy it. But if you don't want the club to make any money on merchandise, you've no right to complain come August when we've not signed anyone and Pienaar/Rodwell/whoever have ****ed off for decent money elsewhere.
