Just in case you've missed my post Goat, I've put up a link to the club's last financial report in my last post. I'll post it here just in case:

I think Kenwright is really trying to get investment into the club. However until the stadium issue is settled then its just not going to happen. Other prem teams like Portsmouth and Fulham with old/unsettled stadium issues are also in the same boat as us. In Portsmouth when the ecomony went bust and plans for a new stadium are now put on hold Portsmouth immediately became a selling club.

Who in their right mind is going to buy/invest into a club when right away they might have to sink 250-350M (when the club itself is prob worth less than that) into a new stadium and that's not taking into account lawsuits, cost overruns, etc. which could add on 100M+ on the stadiums price tag.

Pompey are a selling club, because Gaydermak (sp) spent money the club didn't have (fortunate to win the cup in the process) & is now trying to recoup as he bails on the club. It seems to be his financial situation that's driving the change of ownership. The club still seem intent on being the only club in the South outside of London to be bidding to be part of the World Cup 2018 extravaganza.

Following your logic any potential take-over of Everton isn't awaiting the decision on the new stadium, but the completion of the whole project. But any new buyer will then be paying for the completed stadium anyway when they buy the club. Why would anybody want to pay for the mistakes of the current Board, rather than decide how to spend that money in the way they consider it to be most effective themselves? A new owner might decide they don't "have to sink 250-350M into a new stadium", but instead spend a fraction of that on the first phase of re-developing Goodison Park - with a view to further redevelopment being driven by necessity & affordability. They can then concentrate on supporting the manager acheive what really counts : success on the field of play.

Of course any take-over of Everton is complicated by the fact that any buyer has to reach agreement with Earl & Woods as well as Kenwright in order to gain control, whereas at many other clubs the main shareholder has a controlling interest so there's only one negotiation to be concluded. Kenwright gets a lot of stick but he's not in a position to sell the club, only his shareholding & maybe by not doing so he's doing us all a great favour.

Just putting this out there really.

what we don't know & can only guess at is the motivation & objectives of the main shareholders as regards their plans for the club & their respective share-holdings in it. i blame moyes for doing so well - a few seasons flirting with possible relegation would soon sharpen their focus!

Thats it for me, we are spending relagation money, its only the fact that Moyes and the players walk on water thats stopping everybody from waking up and smelling the coffee.
