Player Valuation: £8m
Looks like Norwich have signed Van Wolfswinkel for £8.5million. Joins on July 1st. (sky sports)
Wouldn't it be nice if our club could not only identify who it wants, but then be proactive and get all things sorted so early after the season has ended?
I'm not saying he is the best forward in the world but it just feels like we have missed out again to a club that I believe should not be more of an attractive proposition than us.
Have we sunk that low? So low that teams like Stoke, WBA, Norwich, Swansea etc can outmanouvre, outbid and sell themselves better than us?
Perhaps we just didn't want to sign him, but we do need a good centre forward and he fits the bill perfectly so what is not to want at that price?
Sack the board!

I'm sure this was posted yesterday, not a lot everton can do about it now maybe holt is available save him from bum raping us again(i don't really want him). I'm being far to cynical this morning bloody hangover.

...

Yes.

Newly promoted teams gain a massive revenue windfall due to mega bucks TV deals and comparatively low wage expenses.

Staying on the Premier League allows them a massively increased budget for a couple of seasons if they wish to, and don't just expect and therefore plan for instant relegation.

Once they've consolidated in the league after a few seasons the gap between income and expenditure narrows significantly as they are now paying "Premier League" wages.

Unfortunately due to no further outside income, we're in the position where expenditure has caught up with (overtaken!) revenue.

We can't really go and buy anyone when the manager won't even commit to next season. We will be playin catch up as usual .

Really is as simple as this. Even if we did have money, Kenwright would be an absolute fool to release any of it for a Moyes transfer now.

Not because Moyes would get it wrong - far from it - but because when the new manager comes in he needs a budget to make his mark on the side.

Maybe because Moyes didn't want him? Plus he hasnt been that good this season, 9 in 38 i think.ieo anu

According to his stats he has scored 84 in 192 games through his career so far. Not bad I reckon!
Sporting Lisbon are a poor team this season so maybe he has struggled along with them.
And surely Everton as a club should be at least a bit interested in players like RVW who would easily get in the squad and probably get in the first team?
