The Book is much much better in my opinion . Film loses a lot by straying from the Vampire type theme .
 

My list of the best bad guys of my youth

1. Darth Vader
2. Sho'Nuff from The Last Dragon - he should have gotten at least an Oscar nomination for this. Hamming it up so awesomely is an underappriciated art in film. He has so many quotable lines in this movie.

 
Low Budget Dolph Lungdren films

The Punisher - which is pretty decent. Much better than the John Travolta garbage.

It's a strange one The Keep. I've seen it a few times and ended up doing a bit of investigation into it, mainly because I love the Tangerine Dream soundtrack, which remains unreleased. It seems as though the film was taken out of Michael Mann's hands at the editing stage and cut to ribbons which would explain the pretty incoherent narrative. But it's still a very strange, visually striking and atmospheric movie. I'd like to see Mann revisit it but it seems he's pretty much disowned it.
