We all know Terry and Ferdinand are the 1st choice CB's....but who comes in if they get injured? It looks like Capello likes Upson....ALOT.

It was Jags' 2nd England 45minutes and it seems mistakes will get you dropped if you're not established in the team in the 1st place, so who comes in when injuries hit in a World Cup or Euro games.

Good point on 606 - Spain's defence always lay it off to a Xavi or Alonso who drop very deep with a 3 yard pass. Barry and Carrick never did that today so the defence have to bring it out and are prone to mistakes or just hoof it.

Thought Jags had a good game. Apart from that pass, but there were opportunities after to stop the goal after but Villa is class and it showed.

Your job as a striker is to lose your marker or beat your man, and both Spanish goals were a fine example of just that.

Jag's was faultless except for a soft pass, but at the same note, why were the 2 centre mids not watching the ball, they could have easily made it to it. School boy error by all 3 of them. Should never have your back to the ball, ever.


Apart from that, made a crucial block before calamity James stepped in again, and covered the pitch well. I think Terry needs a couple more games with him, but it was not a bad first try. Upson was poor when he came on in my opinion.

The 4 I would be thinking of covering CB is Terry, Ferdinand, Lescott and Jag's.
