Certainly some interesting choices. Beyonce at #1? I have to admit that's outside my listening area, but is “Crazy In Loveâ€￾ really the best song over that 10 year period? MGMT coming in at #2? Love "Time To Pretend" but not sure it's the second best song of the decade either. Good to see Bloc Party – “Banquetâ€￾ in at #31 (would be higher on my list), and some others. These lists are always complete subjective, but what say you Music Cliquers and non-Music Cliquers?

There's sprinklings of aceness throughout -- some surprisingly not very mainstream like The Rapture and TV on the Radio -- but Beyonce? Seriously?

It's not my type of music but saying that song is the best of a 10 year span is proof that the medium is a commercial utility first and an art form second.

The fact that they've got Seven Nation Army as the best White Stripes song is all I need to discount their opinion totally if I'm honest.

That and their bizarre Strokes love in.

Honestly, its the tracks they've picked from the artists they do like that bothers me more than the artists left out entirely.

I mean no Mountain Goats or Shins or System of the Down bugs me but 'Bang' as the best effort of the Yeah Yeah Yeahs? 'Hey Ya!â€￾' ahead of 'Ms. Jackson'?

That's a fair point as well. The first one, not the second. The Strokes are ace ffs.

But yeah, anyone with even a remote interest in TWS can name 5-10 better tracks.

You have to wonder how a list like this gets put together. Clearly "Maps" is one of the top 100 songs and is clearly better than "Bang". No Shins on the list is glaring. "New Slang" was easily one of the best songs of the decade, probably in the top 10.

My theory on the Stroke's baffling popularity, is a lot of people just don't have the money to buy a Jon Spencer's Blues Explosion album, slow it down and digitally replace the voice with that of a dying centipede.

Hahaha. TIT.

On the plus side, I'm happy to see:

58 Radiohead – “Everything In Its Right Placeâ€￾

That's a bold choice and one I agree with. Not sure about "Reckoner being the top Radiohead song, but Radiohead are a band you can argue about endlessly.

Also: 54 Sufjan Stevens – “Chicagoâ€￾

Only quibble is that should have defo been higher on the list. Amazing that.

I have that budgeted for next year.
