We've had our fair share.

Middlesbrough sealed a place in the FA Cup semi-final and piled the pressure on Everton boss Walter Smith as they cruised to a 3-0 victory at The Riverside Stadium.
Everton left David Ginola out of their squad and gave Paul Gascoigne one last shot at FA Cup glory - but it was not be as Middlesbrough strolled to victory.
Although, this was one of the biggest defining moments in our recent history. David Moyes took charge 4 days later.

the '77 League Cup Final defeat against Villa, i remember crying like a baby ( and i was 15! ), i was watching it with my father and brother on the TV, i'm sure we came back twice from a goal down only for some bearded [Poor language removed] to break my heart right at the end. It hurt lads i'm telling you.

Big Nev staging his sit down protest when 3-0 down at Leeds back in 1990.

Losing to Shrewsbury in the cup despite having Rooney et al in the team.

The recent derby :)

Losing 4-1 to Arsenal in the first game of the post-Rooney season and thinking "[Poor language removed], we're in for a long season" as we were soundly thrashed that day. Oh how joyous it was to be wrong.

losing fa cup final to [Poor language removed] in 85
man utd beating us 6-2 at home on a boxing day (my birthday), maybe in 70s
losing5-0 to [Poor language removed] at home

gettin owned 7-0 by arsenals youth team the year we qualified for champ league(?). sure we were already guarranteed our position but still that hurt....

When we lost to Aston Villa 6-2 on bonfire night in the late 80s. It was the moment I started to realise that we were going to be [Poor language removed].

It proved so.
