If only you'd had the honour of watching Big Nev. I was and still am a huge fan of Martyn's ability, but Southall was on another level of greatness.

Nigel Martyn was Moyes best ever piece of business, and in fairness to Moyes, that is saying something. He was a revelation when he came to us, not that he wasn't a good keeper anyway, but i genuinely thought his best days were behind him, but my word what a player he was for us!

i was fortunate enough to see Gordon West and of course big Nev and i would say Martyn is the 3rd best we have had in my lifetime! However, West, Martyn and every other Everton keeper i have seen combined couldn't match Southall. If he had been English he would have been spoken of in the same breath as Banks IMO

Wonderful keeper and second best Palace keeper I've ever seen, (behind John Jackson of late 60's / early 70's) Everyone remembers Beckham's last minute free kick for England at OT in 2001 v Greece but people forget Big Nige was MoM that day making save after save to keep us in it.
