Scotland would be a mess within a generation. Westminster would move all the work from the docks in Glasgow to Portsmouth or Northern Ireland and where would those workers find jobs? That is without them losing the subsidies for education and prescriptions which would come as a huge shock to all. All while having to wait to get back into the EU again which is no certainty anyway.

to be fair i'm english so i wouldn't care about what happened to them after they left us. nor would i care when they come crawling back. I just get bored of hearing the same story from sturgeon over and over, rather she got her wish and be done with it as she wouldn't be asking for independence too soon again.

Nicola is immensely popular in Scotland. When she's out and about children rush to get selfies and cuddles with her. Theresa May couldn't buy that kind of magnetism.

But the SNP have to be canny unless they come over as wanting independence at all costs.

...I like her. I think she's a refreshing change from Westminster politicians and like her predecessor she runs rings around those South of the border. Indeed, generally speaking, SNP look to have a bright and 'normal' set of MPs, I wish they were an option in West Derby.
