As you can no doubt see I'm a bit more of a forum dweller than poster but I thought you's might be interested in this. The film Next Goal Wins is a documentary about the American Samoa side after they were defeated 31-0 by Australia (With Archie Thompson doing his version of the Cahill celebration 13 times). It is being rave about by critics including the football hating Kermode.
Unfortunately due to little distribution it barely gets an outing in Liverpool with one showing on July 4th in the Showcase. So I've set up a screening at Fact in town for the Saturday of England's opening game against Italy (14th June) at midday as a nice warm up to the game itself. Now I need 23 people to buy tickets otherwise the screening doesn't go ahead. I get nothing out of this other than getting to see the film, I pay the same as everyone else.
The official Next Goal Wins twitter feed tried to get me to get in touch with a RS who also wants to screen it but I didn't want to associate with them and know somehow they'd make it about them probably request YAWN to b played before hand or something.
