Out of all the realistic names given there, I would rather keep Southgate.

Tory Lampard

I know the FA offered him the job when he was at his peak but I can't help thinking it might be worth testing the water again. Alex Ferguson with Bobby Charlton as assistant, two hugely experienced and respected figures in world football.

The slim pickings of good English managers highlights the problem with English football.

We think of ourselves as the home of football. We think we have the best league in the world. We think we're all so knowledgeable.
But when it comes to English players becoming good managers, it just doesn't happen very often.

Are English players just not as knowledgeable about football and tactics as our foreign counterparts?

I don't want a foreign manager of the England team (yes, I'm aware of how Reform UK that sounds 😂). I want an English manager but there just aren't any good options or there.

We're never going to win anything are we?

I didn’t know Potter was that short in the betting.

I’d say that pretty much makes it a done ✔️

Considered a good tactician, plays attacking football, looks like exactly what the people are crying out for.

I remember watching the 2010 game against Germany (the lampard disallowed goal one) in one of my mates, and my mates arl fella nearly went for me because I laughed when he was suggesting at full time we should replace Capello with Alan Shearer because “he knows what he’s talking about!”

So probably Alan Shearer for me.
