Godfrey has good attributes, but he has the attributes regardless. Allan similarly, doesn't need the captaincy, as he leads already. What we really need is an injection of character and personality into the side, and that for me would be going and buying a ready made captain who will lead by example and will have deputies like Godfrey and Allan who he can rely on whenever we need to batten down the hatches so to speak.

I'd be very surprised if our next proper captain was already at the club.
