There is a new series on HBO written by Aaron Sorkin called Newsroom. I saw that it received horrible reviews. Almost panned it but one of my best friends told me I would regret not giving it a look. I did. Bollocks to critics, it was a damn fine hour of television. As a journo major before I enlisted in the Air Force, this show really struck a nerve. It seems the media are all either mad for the left, Stone stubborn for the right, or they are just fad parasites rattling on about some **** celebrity or retarded fad. I wish I could have heard Murrow, or Cronkite tell the tale. This show asks how would that kind of reporting go down in todays media frenzy. It is that, a frenzy. From footy to celebrities, **** politicians, to reality tv, it is a constant bombardment. Slanted this way or that. Just give me the story and let me decide for myself. The show had me hooked at the first scene. The way the Will McAvoy describes my country is bang on accurate. The moderator bullies him into a reaction, and gets the truth. He hits the nail on the head in saying that the US is not the greatest country in the world and why. He reminds us that we had the way and lost it. I just hope that there are enough Americans who would hear something like this and take it to heart. Maybe go tilt some windmills and stumble onto some change. Please watch this and catch a little truth. Relish it. It truly and sadly is a rare thing.

I've got 'em all on DVR, just need to sit down and go through them.

As for that clip, spot on. Sadly. I'm a proud American, and not ashamed of it, but the chest beating needs to stop, and we need to get to work restoring our greatness, and stop talking about it.
