Glad to see that the Daily Torygraph has suffered the largest decline in circulation. Seems terminal for a lot of newspapers in the coming few years.

..I presume this is more about the rise of the internet than it is about the contents of the newspapers. Other than my Racing Post every Saturday, I haven’t bought a newspaper for many years.

I buy the Times on a daily basis and can't see that stopping any time soon, although I am finding that I'm using their app and website more frequently.

Get it delivered daily to my kindle but basically read it on my phone now , although I probably don’t read it as religiously as I used to . That said like you I don’t think that’ll change . Although also like you, I suspect, I’m middle aged and it just feels that’s where you should get your news , rather than from a Russian bot.

I get all my news from the free papers that come through my door. Lots of scandal in local news.

I buy the Irish Times on a Saturday purely for the sport and culture/ lifestyle type sections. Very rarely buy any other. Maybe The Guardian occasionally.

Although other print media, like Private Eye, The Spectator etc. are enjoying their best circulation ever

It's a strange one. I think the problem is newspapers have given themselves over to a lot of low grade comment , much like Twitter; so quality discussion (like the Economist, another example) is more at a premium, so people are prepared to pay for it.

Haven't bought a physical newspaper for years. The Guardian, BBC and ABC (Aussie version of BBC) is where I get my news

I can't say that I've bought or even looked at the headlines on The Telegraph very often, but I've always thought of it as a paper with integrity. Very different opinions to mine, but honest about them - a sort of counterweight to The Guardian. Is this view wrong?

I knew it would be curtains when the Daily Sport ceased being daily; who could forget the anticipation iwaiting for Lindsey Dawn McKenzue to reveal her teenage assets (or was it her curtains) and then reading Elvis was in fact alive and well livingn as the King of a Pygmy tribe inside the Bermuda Triangle (or was it LDMc”s triangle?). I forget now!

Have to stick to the Texts column in the Daily Star now. Times are changing alright and not always for the best I tell you. No more pictures of eighty stone reptile skinned women starting up a kissagram service or pictures of odd shaped vegetables.

Frightening that even in 2018 there’s still around 2.8m copies of the Daily Hate and the S*n still being consumed by the populous on a daily basis.

The only paper I buy is the Economist, which I've subscribed to for what must be 15 years now. I use online for everything else, and have an extensive collection of sources in my RSS reader.

Didn't know the s*n was well ahead.

I assume this is because they give thousands of free copies to airports etc?

The Sun & The Mail have always been the most popular. I know this is damning stuff, but it's human nature for many. Here in Germany Bild is way ahead of everything else (its equivalent would be The Daily Star's tits allied to The Mail's social outrage). I expect similar tales from other European nations. See also sales of women's magazines and the kind of guff content they have in there. People love guff content.
