Everton 4-3 Newcastle
Rhino takes the Reins, as Big Sam Bounces Down the Road
Following the announcement Sunday Evening that BFS and Everton Football Club would part ways, David Unsworth has once again been placed in charge of the first team on a temporary basis. The Toffees were off to a disastrous start, 2-0 down in the opening 10 minutes, with goals from Kenedy and Shelvey. Rooney pulled one back for the hosts midway through the first half before a Leighton Baines penalty on the stroke of half time leveled the game 2-2, much to the protestations of the FSW on the touchline.
The second half started at a frenetic pace, with Newcastle again taking the lead within 25 seconds. Everton then pinned the magpies back to within their own half, but couldn't make the break through, until the 65th minute triple substitution of; Niasse, Baningime and Davies yielded almost instant results. Niasse scoring from a back post header on 67 minutes and Tom Davies driving into the box to slot past a hapless Darlow.
