Just wondering if anyone had some non-touristy suggestions? Spent a little time there before and seen most of the obvious places. I'll be spending a week in NoHo and would like some interesting things to do.

Already on the list are a day at the Met and Guggenheim, a Yankees game, the Comedy Cellar and maybe Smalls jazz bar. I'll be there for the Tribeca film festival too, I think, which might be good.

Anyone familiar with the city have some tips?

My favourite place on earth mate.

Spent the best summer ever working there many moons ago.

Jib the Yankees off for a start and go to a Mets game for a real baseball experience.

Other than that I loved Greenwich Village but I'm a bad hipster so I would.

Couple of decent bars not far from NoHo included The Ear Inn on Spring Street and Toad Hall on Grand Street. Was a few years since I've been but they were proper locals bars with a really friendly vibe. Good food at the Ear Inn as well.

When you run out of money the free Staten Island ferry is worth a trip. Takes you close ish to the Statue of Liberty and you get a great view of the New York skyline as you sail back to Manhattan.

You could spend a whole day just in the Met. Their modern art collection was bigger than MoMa's I seem to recall.

Enjoy

If Everton are playing while you're there go to Mr Dennehy's in Greenwich Village.

If you want a really good burger in a weird spot go to the Burger Joint in Le Parker Meridien. It's a luxury hotel with a huge foyer but then has this small fast food spot in the corner. JG Melon is another great burger place.

Burnley game. It's on.

Cheers mate. Yeah, the Met is a go to every time. I'll take a look at the bars you mentioned too.

It's very touristy but I'd suggest the best of NYC circle line boat tour around all of Manhattan. Walk the Brooklyn bridge and get a Pizza in dumbo. Greenwich village is great and the Everton bar is there. Walk
The high line which is also close to the village. If you're going up and skyscraper I'd go up Empire State.
