Felt this warranted a thread seeing as we've a few music lover here.

Brian May has stated that the remaining members of Queen are to release a newly discovered track with Freddie Mercury on vocals. They've apparently been applying some studio polish to fine tune the song. I for one am very excited by this, being quite the Queen fan.

How no-one has got hold of it and leaked it years ago, I do not know - especially in this day and age of digital gubbins' and YouTube. Indeed, I hope this prompts the band to work on applying finishing touches to the two albums worth of unrealeased early stuff that is already floating about in YouTube.

Even though the demo's may not have been liked by the band at the time, Queen firing on three cylinders is still miles better than some of the garbage released today.

Love stuff like this - even if it truns out to be a bit tosh the idea of this song being buried away and forgotten about and now dug up is superb.

Can't wait for it.

Freddie Mercury used to live in the Dovedale Towers pub on Penny Lane, btw.

Should have a blue plaque :)

I like the idea of it, hope its a good old fashined queen track and not some of the nonsense they made.

oh God, they're not gonna resurrect his body for the video are they ???

the last one they did he looked like the talking corpse from the Harry Enfield show, Mr Dead or whatever he was called

It was rumoured that there was a whole load of stuff that he recorded before his death and it was only a matter of time before it saw the light of day.
May have had something to do with the fall out between John Deacon ,Roger Taylor and Brian May.

I like Queen but my missus absolutely loves them.. proper nerdy about it, rare albums, signed shirts, fan club, convention, the works...
Would be ace if she didn't know about this and I could actually suprise her with some info, especially of this scale, so Cheers Groucho... would be like being the first to break the news of a new expensive Everton signing, only even less likely.

For me, Queen are not Queen without Freddie but I thought Paul did a decent job in Freddies place to be fair.

There wasn't a fall out mate, John Deacon just got tired of the music business and all it's nonsense (much like people get disillusioned with agents in football). They speak, he's just a bit reclusive. He has had input on this track actually, in the studio with them too.

no way ! how is that true , has to be like an urban myth

True, 100%. Lived in Wavertree when he was a member of Ibex, pre-Queen.

Also, his signature mic-stand stage moves were brought about when a mic stand fell apart in his hand doing a Queen gig in St. Helens.

Groucho facts.

Definitely should. Bit before my time but a great showman and boss music in the main. We can be a bit too beatles focused in the city sometimes.
