Jeez! It is just a tarted up PC running a skinned Linux variant!!!!

Stop paying 850% more for it!

Bet you shop in Primark and drive the cheapest car you could find...... actually I bet you don't :-)

Some of us want something that looks good, even in a computer, and not cheap plastic. We're aware we're paying more. It's the same logic behind why people buy an Audi, which is a tarted up VW, which in turn is a tarted up Seat :-)

Linux is fine, but it's just not as user friendly as OSX. And I genuinely can't go through the pain of Windows again. Sure you can lock the thing down, but it's a ball ache knowing you have to be careful all the time and watch out for viruses when you download. Sometimes It's just good to switch your brian off, pick up the laptop and not have to worry about, well anything

Mind you if you get a 15% student discount with Warranty *taps nose* The price point pain is a little more bearable (y)

Dylan is right though, you pay a HUGE premium for a lil bitten piece of fruit on the back of the monitor, if you build your own PC with no OS and install OSX lion on it, it's the same thing since Apple wisely switched to PC components. Admittedly it wont look as fancy unless you get a very expensive Alienware (which I hate the look, too flashy and nerdy) or Falcon Northwest (which I love, very classy).

Very true.

I have a 27" iMac for work, mac book pro for on the road and a white iPhone 4 cos I'm a bit gay.

Had the most powerful laptops and my macs pee all over them and look sexy. The only people that are anti mac are the people that don't have them.

I'd hold off on the mac mini if you can. It's way overdue for an update, and Intel have some new chips waiting for release just around the corner.

Right. Thought a new version came out last year. Had one for about 3 years now and delighted with it (had an iMac and an eMac before that) but it's running a little slower these days so I was thinking of updating. I can wait.

The Mini does tend to have longer update cycles, it was last updated 220 days ago. Intels Ivy bridge processors are just around the corner, probably a 3 to six month months
