Player Valuation: £8m
Imagine, if the government stepped in, and regulated the Premier League properly, and they, and all the clubs found, that in the best interest of the game, the clubs, and more importantly the fans, the current way our game is managed needs to be drastically changed - for the better.

Out with the old and in with the new:

OUT
- The Corrupt Premier League monopoly
- Sky Sports
- TNT/BT
- Amazon
- Other

IN
A brand new, government led regulated “Netflix” like company “EPL TV” or “Premier League TV” or whatever, setup to show ALL PL not just the big 6 games primarily. It could be the lead broadcaster for news and official club related news, etc.

Ran using various subscriptions or for individual games to be streamed for sensible prices. For example £1 a game.

OVERHAUL OF FOOTBALL FROM THE ROOTS
we could even look at bringing every single club in all the leagues into it, in the future.

The PL/Sky shouldnt have the monopoly and power, the PL officials shouldnt throw the games (our) money about like its all theirs. WE, the fans should have more of a say.

Its not working as it is!

Lets make football great again!

Thoughts?

I don't know where to begin with this, but good on yer for trying.

There’s so much money in football now that no one will take any decision that stops the money flowing to the biggest clubs. They can’t afford them to leave (as the super league debacle showed) so basically they are now hostage to the whim of the big clubs and will therefore make every decision to now suit them and further widen the gap.

Poor model and will never get going, if the government step in then it should be for match ticket price reductions, not TV.

I wouldn't mind this.. but it's never going to be as cheap as £1 per game... minium £25 per month in my opinion.. if you charge per game then you'll have the scab 6 saying that their games are bringing in more viewers so should get more money...

I love the idea of state run things, but you are over estimating the compitence of public workers.
Regulated maybe, but nothing gets done the minute government bodies are involved. No one gets paid more for innovation.
Happy for someone to offer examples.

This would be effectively getting rid of the 3 o'clock blackout too, which would be catastrophic for non-league football.

When - and I do believe it's when a streaming service comes in, rather than if, I think the easiest way to not completely destroy smaller clubs would be to have PL games at different times than 3 o'clock Saturday. Look at Germany, their top flight matches don't go up against their lower leagues, so people who want to attend matches can do, and then watch a TV one if that's their preference.

The direction of travel here is one way and one way only and that's for the big clubs to be bigger still.

There will have to be a reset of some sort, but clubs of our ilk are not going to come out if it better, initially at least.

It's hard to see room at the top for more clubs now, and when your only hope is a sovereign takeover, then it does look very bleak.

Restricted competition at the top level is absolutely entrenched and here to stay.

Domestic TV is a symptom, not a cause. The problem is the overseas money, and the fact that overseas is the growth market.

The only time I can ever recall seeing someone in a non-Sky six shirt over here was when I took my kid to a bar in Chicago to watch the Championship promotion final a few years back. Proper footy atmosphere, that. If the game had been available, we probably watch it in the hotel room to our detriment, but it wasn't.

More often than not, it's one of the Manchester shirts. If it's a kid, it's City. If it's an adult, it's United, and they picked them up during SAF's run. Liverpool and the London clubs are less common, but I see them.

If those clubs aren't successful on the regular, the Prem loses the revenue from eyeballs and shirt sales, so they set up the rules to give the foreign fans what they want. They want Leicester to win the title. Once. In a blue moon. Then, they want them back in the second tier where they think they belong.

A club like Everton is not allowed to have a shiny new stadium that makes Mordor and Old Trafford look bad, so they're making an example of us. Simple as.

Your idea isn't bad, but it won't solve the problem because it doesn't address the cause.
