Player Valuation: £6m
Most of us reckon that Moyes should change our now stale formation, but what do you guys think. Personally i'd like to try something new that adapts most of our stars.

--------------------Saha------------------------
--------------------------------------------------
-----------------Bilyaletdinov-------------------
-----------Arteta----------Barkley--------------
-------------------Fellaini------------------------
Baines----------------------------------Coleman
----------------------------------------------------
---------Distin----Jagielka---Rodwell------------
----------------------------------------------------
--------------------Howard------------------------

Thoughts?

p.s if anyone has a link for a decent squad selector that's not that bbc, it would make this thread a lot easier

I think it's a good idea to play Saha in goal as I think it's unlikely to catch as many injuries from that position.

Always say this, and i completely agree, makes a stronger defence, yet lets Coleman and Baines attack more, so therefore improves our attack - doesnt really make sense but still!!

The formation would make our defence much stronger, and play to the strengths of our best players. It makes logical sense, but this is Moyes and he doesnt like change...so...

this also accomdates rodwell in his so called favoured position, and it plays arteta, barkley, felli and bily in their preferred roles

Fantastic idea in theory, but as an Evertonian, i can see the negative in everything.
Wing Backs are a great asset to a team if they can do their job properly. Baines could honeslty play anywhere on the left and still make an impact, Coleman on the other hand ...
I can see him bombing down the right make good runs, but then being left behind on the break and making either a silly challenge, or effectively leaving Rodwell playing as a right back due to covering for Coleman being stranded upfield.
Hopefully I'll be proven wrong this year, but I don't think Coleman's quite there with his defensive duties yet. Then again, even the mighty Tony Hibbert is in no way capable of running up and down the right flank all day.
I must admit, I had to get a towel to mop up my drool from the thought of Arteta, Fellaini AND Barkley in midfield together, along with Bily smashing 'em in from 30 yards.

id go with hietnga instead of rodwell and maybe not billy but iv bee thinking of this formation for a while colman and baines are ideal for it

Heitinga ahead of Rodwell is a must.

Its a great idea in theory that formation but it just doesnt work in real life. How many teams have had success with a 3 man centre back combo?

ur right, its doses need to be nailed and worked on, to prown to a quick counter attack, but id like to see moyes go for it, im sick of 451 but cant see moyes goin for it

It would be nice to see him try something a little different.

I dont have as much of a downer on 4-5-1 as many people seem to do. I think with the right players and balance it can be a very attacking formation. We had it right when we had Pienaar in there and I think Osman is a must for making a 4-5-1 work for us as his close control and short passing is spot on. I think it becomes much less effective when we have the likes of Anichebe or Bilyaletadinov (on the flank) in there.

i think with the 451 teams have works us out, other than baines, last season we didnt have many other creative options, and yes billy and vic are awful, i want to see mikel back out wide and hopefully see a bit gayue
