Pair Back For Rovers Clash

John Heitinga and Tony Hibbert are in contention for Everton's clash with Blackburn after missing the AEK Athens game.

Heitinga was inelgible for the European encounter and Hibbert was suspended.

But the pair are available again ahead of the Goodison Park match with Sam Allardyce's side, boosting David Moyes' defensive options. There's also a slim chance Lucas Neill could be involved - although the Everton boss is wary of his lack of matches in recent weeks.

Moyes also admitted to 'one or two injury worries' ahead of Sunday's clash.

The boss barely had time to assess his squad before going in front of the media at Friday's press conference.

He didn't name names but one worry could be Diniyar Bilyaletdinov, who had to be substituted during Thursday's 4-0 win over AEK Athens.

Moyes also explained that the game will probably come too soon for new signing Neill who lacks match fitness.

He said: "It's not massively tempting (to play him) because he's not played and he's not up to match speed yet. But I do know that if I get an injury I can do so.

"But it's not tempting at the moment because I feel we've got people coming back to fitness and people coming back from the game in midweek. I think I've got plenty of options."

But the manager did have to report that Victor Anichebe has suffered a setback, with the striker requiring a further operation which has delayed his return by three or four weeks.

He remains on the sidelines along with Mikel Arteta, Phil Jagielka and Phil Neville.

Everton: Howard, Nash, Hibbert, Heitinga, Yobo, Distin, Baines, Neill, Gosling, Rodwell, Pienaar, Osman, Cahill, Fellaini, Saha, Yakubu, Jo, Baxter, Wallace.

How long does a groin strain take to heel? I can't see Bilyaletdinov playing to be honest.

Pienaar's always picking up bumps and bruises, I'd expect him to play.

Pound to a penny, Hibbert and Osman will start and bleeding Jo. Which will means we will struggle to score.

I don't know Robert, if anything it gives you another chance to rip them a new one, even if they score or play well. Hibbert, Osman and Jo starting could be a good thing.

Have to agree.

On Thursday Jo got ripped all over even though he had a good game and scored a good goal.

He's not really a prolific striker like Yak, he's more of a link type player, I would prefer him then to play with the Yak, maybe Moyes feels the same by playing 3 strikers at the end.

I think Moyes tried the three up front to see what the link play was like. It was a good opportunity, and maybe without Neville/Billy he may start 4-4-2 with Jo and either Yak or Saha. Yak looked fitter on Thursday and is probably approaching a starting place. Or am I dreaming, us not playing 4-5-1?

Cloud cuckoo land mate! Billy wasn't on that squad list from the article, does that mean he's defo not playing? :(
