He looks like a typical Barça player imo and reminds me more of Iniesta than Xavi or Fabregas.

Young lad at Madrid called Jose Rodriguez 17. Attacking midfielder. Got his debut in the cup a couple of weeks ago with the first team. Scored and showed some really good touches. In the squad tonight for the return leg along with Denis Cherishev.

Aye saw that, he sounds like he'll be good, as will Cheryshev. Did they buy Rodriguez do you know?

Good stuff there mate. Often thought the Russian teams have a handicap in CL terms with their league season being out of synch with the rest of the big European leagues. They seem to do well in the early on as they're probably in better shape but in the later stages they're in close season so aren't as up to speed as the rest.

The fact that CSKA and Zenit have won the UEFA in the last few years is a clear sign of progress though so, as you say, with the strengthening from foreign stars they could be in with a shout of the big one.

When I was writing that I completely forgot about the Europa! But they are gathering pace at an alarming rate especially the traditionally 'smaller' teams like Anzhi, who now have all that money, and even mid table teams like Rostov can attract names like David Bentley, which may not seem like anything massive but thinking about it if someone said to you five years ago that a reserve player for a top team in England would leave to go to a midtable russian team you'd think they were joking. I think next season Zenit will be a force, they will only grow in stature and quality

Some new stuff up today lads

Talking about David Moyes, the Arsenal result, David Beckham and the new champions league format proposal
