West, Parker, Meagan, Gabriel, Labone, Kay, Scott, Stevens, Young, Vernon, Morrissey.

Now that was an Everton team.

67, 250 attendance.

(Don't think the title was clinched till two or three games later. Could be wrong but that's my recollection.)
yep 4-1 Fulham mate.

@Dario Terracotta Everton went top after the Tottenham game. We must have won the title mathematically 3 games later at home against Bolton (1-0, Vernon, att 52,047) - the 40th game of the season. The trophy was awarded at the final game v Fulham (4-1, Vernon 3, Scott, att 60,578)

Sorry to be a pedant but attendance was 67,650 :)

We had a tremendous run in for the 1963 Championship winning 9 and drawing 3 of our last 12 games scoring 20 goals and only conceding 6. Our goal average was a perfect 2 for the season, 84f 42a. Tottenham who came second scored 111 and conceded 62, they must have been some team to watch as a neutral. Still finished 6 points behind us though :D

Spurs were our rivals that season having done the double the season before, pretty much like two heavyweights going punch for punch,we put them on the canvas that day,and they didn't get up!

I've got Vernons shirt from the Fulham game - probably my most treasured piece of memorabilia
