Neighbours

We have lived in the same house for the last 19 years in a lovely area. Our neighbours have been really nice, but, about six months ago their 32 year old son moved back in with them.
Since then, he has been throwing his cigarette butts over the fence into our garden. I spoke to the parents, but, it is still happening.
He clearly sees himself as a gangster wannabe.
Any advice? He is currently doing community service for vandalism and seems to be one of those people who blames everybody else for his problems.
Any other posters have problems with their neighbours?

chuck a double sausage and egg mcmuffin over the fence anytime before 10.30am when hes about, but lace it with some severe laxatives... no one can resist a double sausage and egg mcmuffin in a morning, he will lap it up and then spend several days trying to poop out his large intestines and wont be able to smoke by your fence.

Be thankful it's just cigarette butts. I live in an area that's become predominantly university student housing (been here more than 22 years myself) and you should see the crap that's in my front yard every Saturday and Sunday morning -- beer cans, plastic cups, pizza boxes, garbage. Kids walking by or up the laneway I share with the house next door (renovated into student apartments, of course) simply toss their [Poor language removed] wherever they feel like it. So much for saving the ecology, eh?

A 32 year old gangster who lives at home with his mum and dad..... Watch out Tony Montana

Seriously though - I've had neighbour issues in the past and I know what it's like - its hard ,but one thing you can't do is lose control of the narrative by falling out with his parents - that will probably lead to a Mexican standoff and tension x1000 which is never good for anyone.
