Increasingly, the negativity on this forum seems to eclipse all other opinion. Strange, considering it's a fan forum and fans are meant to support, first and analyse second.
This isn't just the usual Evertonian pessimism that stems from previous false dawns and bitter memories - the kind of downbeat perspective that is really a form of protection from getting carried away with ourselves, e.g A good win (say, beating United) which usually segues seamlessly into some predictable catastrophe (getting knocked out of the cup by Shrewsbury say).
I'm talking about a constant withering negativity. Stuff like: Moyes is ****, he's tactically naive. He's afraid to play youth players.
Of course if Moyes then played his youth players and we'd lost it'd be Rodwell just isn't going to make it. Barkley is crap, he's not fulfilling his potential.
Then there's all the point scoring crap about Kenwright and the board, that spills into every thread. The mods have tried, mercifully, to contain it within one über-tedious thread, but its poisoning virtually every thread by certain members alluding to it, over and over again.
I don't even mind people casting negative opinions about the club, the board, the players, the stadium, a certain performance, Moyes etc. It's just that recently that's all you ever get on this damn forum. Complaints and people whinging that Moyes will play Neville or Bily or something.
Lighten the F up people. We are seventh. We are winning without performing well, but there's time and Moyes's sides usually improve over the season.
We have good youth players coming through and Drenthe looks like Pienaar on steroids (incidentally, good job Pienaar didn't stay as he's been injured most of the time).
With Coleman and Drenthe we have pace on the wings. Fellaini in the centre we have some steel, and Ossie provides the creativity.
Baines is class as ever. Howard is still a good keeper. Cahill is still a thorn in the side of any team he plays against. Moyes is still the best pound-for-pound manager in world football. And Everton is still a grand old team to play for.
Anyone else, a bit sick of the negativity here?
