Noisy noise annoys

Player Valuation: £70m
In seriousness, there always appears to be someone who knows something about everything on this place.

My Dell Optiflex is playing silly buggers and time to replace

I use it all day with around 50-70 tiles open at a time.

I do not stream anything, watch anything of note (occasional crap Youtube about an Ev rumour) but need loads of windows open.

It is like a minefield trying to find the right model. I'd prefer not a giant tower thing but dont want one that is too small and may be slow.

Id guess I want i7/i9 and a Tb

Happy to buy a used refurb of eBay or similar.

Anyone with any suggestions?

If you like opening programs I suggest lots and lots of RAM.

I buy ALL my PCs from these fellas, never had any issues and their prices seem ok.

Excellent, thanks - will have a good look now.

Don't be afraid to browse AMD - price to performance is much better than i7/i9s imho, and they can save you a few quid. I'm a recent/current gen AMD convert and have had absolutely no issues so far.

Also as @Goat said - more RAM will be what you need.
Yeah, I was Intel for life, but when I bought this 1 AMD were kicking their arse performance=price wise, so I went AMD.

Same really, think I said as much in the Gaming thread a while back, but the 7700X I have currently (with 32GB DDR5 RAM) just fly with no issue. I don't even have liquid/AIO cooling either - Thermalright's Peerless Assassin is absolute magic in that regard, but it's a bit bulky.

I won't go in to detail of why but something along those lines....ThinkCentre or their IdeaCentre lines. I'll also not go in to why you should avoid "cheaping out" when looking at SFF PC's but don't.

Get out of here with your integrated graphics.

This is a serious thread for serious people.

Stupid question - is there any visible signs that you are using AMD not I7 or are they basically the same experience?

Visible in what way?

To the naked eye, no.

Performance wise? Maybe.
