need a powerhouse DM on fifa

I have a player -- I think he's called Junior Dos Santos but I might be getting him mixed up with the UFC fighter ... I tried searching but almost everyone has "dos santos" in their name ... C. Ronaldo is technically a "dos santos" apparently ... as is Tony Hibbert oddly enough ... anyway -- I put this Dos Santos (I think he might be a CM) next to McCarthy (Barry retired) and thus far it's gone fairly well.

So in summary my official recommendation is: a bloke who might be called Junior Dos Santos who I believe technically is not a DM.

Jonathan Dos Santos ... he plays for a little known outfit called "barcelona" apparently. Anyway FIFA has no qualms about letting you buy pretty much anyone (aside from Rooney who refused to sign for Everton when his contract ran out because of the history between him and the club) and he wasn't that expensive for me in my first season. He's an 80 for me now and still improving.

So I decided to play this career mode with no restarts. In other words if I lost to the RS on the last day of the season to hand them the league title I am not allowed to just quit without saving and try again to right was was obviously a horrible mistake.

I beat the RS 3-2 to take the PL lead with one game remaining -- then lose my final game to Wigan to bottle the league and then lose the CL final 3-2 to Real Madrid when Ronaldo scores in injury time. I also realized that I almost never play through the middle. It's all flanks for me. Bottling important games and no playing through the middle ... I might be virtual David Moyes FFS.

Anyone ever imagine how awesome FIFA would be if they put the same attention to detail that truly great games have into FIFA? It's not a hardware issue at this point -- it's purely EA's accountants figuring out they can make the most profit with these gradual updates than ever truly nailing the experience. Graphics are one thing -- when I accidentally shoot from my own half and the balls rolls slowly into the keeper's hands and the announcers scream "what a save! he was certain he would score!" it feels like maybe they could do better.

That said still having fun. Someone asked about sliders earlier and I forgot to respond. Right now I'm playing on easier difficulty but all the important sliders (shooting, passing etc.) cranked up for CPU and myself. This creates a lot of high scoring games which is fun. I typically do easier difficulty for the first half of a season then make the second half more difficult (but at least I have a decent league and cup position so I don't lose my job and end up having to play with Watford).

The main point (aside from making it more fun) is it also helps move up levels of difficulty. I like making the game more challenging but sometimes the step up (especially in career mode) will get you fired. If you put the difficulty up but adjust some sliders to make the CPU a little crappier (even just taking their marking and passing down 10-20 points can be enough to turn a level where you always lose into something you can play) it makes that level more manageable until you find your feet and can reset the sliders to default and play that difficulty level for real.

I like to get it to a point where I can beat a low/mid-table side by a few goals (aside from a few times when they fluke a result) but if I play a CL team the game could go either way. Enough good league results to keep my job and get a good budget but enough challenge at the high end to keep it interesting. I find I lose interest if it's too easy or too difficult and a lot of the time the default levels without adjusting sliders are too big of a jump.
