NBC have gone "balls-out" with this as you'll get to see them push the re-branding of NBCSN throughout the season. For the two of you who may be interested, Everton's broadcast income is split between domestic and overseas.
Domestic has a set formula. 25% of the total is a "membership" fee - all clubs get the same amount. 25% is the "facility" fee - based on live TV appearances in the UK. Clubs are guaranteed a minimum of 10, but over the last two seasons, the two Manc clubs had 24-26 appearances, whilst almost half the league got the minimum. It used to be about £525k per game, now it's around £875k - you can see how they suddenly earn more.
The remaining 50% of the domestic TV money is prize pot. Bottom club gets X, 2nd bottom 2X, and champions get 20X.
The Overseas deal has also seen great growth this round - over $1 billion for the 3 years (and deals are still being closed according to reports I see). This is split equally between all clubs, and really helps adjust the ratio between the top earners and bottom feeders. Every overseas territory now has the rights for all 380 games per season (previous deal had a few territories with that).
A couple of years ago, our loveable neighbours tabled a motion at the Premier League meeting to change this from an equal share to something akin to worldwide fanbase. Because obviously they need more money to waste on buying gash and selling it on within 2 years for 25% of what they paid. It got laughed out. Even Man U voted it down...
