National Football Center - Will It Help?

Don't suppose it'll do that much in the way of training players, but hopefully it will mean we have much better coaches. That has to be the key as most youth training will be done anywhere but at St Georges.

Of course there's the chicken and egg thing. Is English football as it is, and fans enjoy what they know OR do fans like the frenetic football and so that's what teams supply?

Gerrard says "Now we've got the best stadium in the world (in Wembley) and the best facilities. We're taking away all the excuses the players might use in the future."

What possble excuses have they had in the past?

Tbf we've had some awful luck with injuries in major tournaments but also the fact that the team just wasn't good enough. Hopefully these new facilities will develope the best young players, thus taking away any excuses about the quality of the national side.

So the only excuse they had was that they weren't good enough?

Also, most clubs supplying England players have excellent facilities. I guess the coaching MAY improve, but that would take a culture change that I'm not so sure we are ready (or able) to make.
