I've never really liked God Save The Queen as an anthem. Not because I'm a republican, but because it's a really dreary, uninspiring song. I would still sing it, but I don't like it.

Anyway, today there is a vote in Parliament about changing England's national anthem to something else. I would definitely support the motion, particularly if it was changed to Jerusalem which is a fantastic song. What do you think?

Who's really arsed. Though the sound of someone being tortured would be more enjoyable than god save the queen

surely it is a political nightmare to have our national anthem named after the capital of Israel?

how about that for a nationalistic pride song?

I don't think there should be a blanket "just change it to something else". At the moment we live in such a sanitized, politically correct country that the only thing the government would come up with is a song with no lyrics, like Spain's national anthem, for fear of offending someone.

I don't think the anthem is amazing of anything, I just don't see that there is a better option out there. If someone writes one and puts it forward then great.
