Injury after injury after injury. He's no good anyway — surely should have been punted in the summer for whatever amount we could have got? Should have him him, McNeil and Beto, then we might have been and to shop for a slightly better striker.

As a club though it is shocking that poor as Patterson was for the u21s there is nobody in that squad currently capable of challenging him for a PL right back squad place and just as shocking that he’s not capable of challenging 50 year old Seamus, a centre back and one of our best midfielders for the spot. It’s baffling that we can go so many years without fixing that RB position.

….weird how such an historically easy position to fill relatively cheaply has been so difficult for us. I seem to remember Moyes asking ‘who’s the best young RB in the championship’, might not be a bad starting place.

I haven’t seen them all in the Championship but Issa Kabore a City player on loan at Wrexham is lightning fast , reasonable defender, 24 and experienced. We can’t loan him but worth considering buying in January unless City want exorbitant price.

….seem to remember a Luton loanee from City a while back who was also decent.

Tbf the position was covered by 2 players who cost £60k for the best part of 20 years. Needs addressing though.

He stunk in the under youth team game he & the left back were awful reading reports apart from the keeper who saved us from a mauling ... we got hammered too 4 or 5 nil ....

DM should have kept his word & looked in the lower divisions ... for two full backs back in June...
