Nathan Holland

He was never going to play for us. Glad to see him doing well, but he was like 10th in line or lower in terms of potential prospects at the club. When players like Dowell or Walsh couldn't get a game, this lad was nowhere close.

Stuck in the U23's and wanted to leave to try get first team football. Good luck to the lad but W'ham fans are hardly a gauge on which to judge football knowledge.

I think it's sweet that they are raving about a player that couldn't get in our U23.

They sound like we did pre Morshiri

Because Everton FC has snapped up every excellent youth player in the world lately...and there was no room left for the 'just good' ones

West Ham loons seem to be falling over themselves over Nathan Holland. Anyone know why he was released?

Couldnt say we missed him mate. I mean he was a regular youth international for one thing. But there was teriffic competition in the U23s last season as you well know and maybe the lad wanted out for more playing time.

Im assuming we got a decent fee for him plus I imagine some sort of sell on fee. Both clubs kept very quiet on the terms of that deal, similar to Ledson.

There will always be some slip through the net mate but always happy to see one of our own come good so good luck to him.

Here's a post I put in the youth team thread earlier. I don't think we released him mate. Pretty sure he was still under contract when West Ham signed him back in January.
