"Moyes also called on the FA to put rules in place to stop clubs cheating fans by wasting money on overpriced prima-donna's. Moyes slammed clubs for spending what is effectively the GDP of a small nation on players, citing the abhorrent waste of 35m on Carroll, 20m on Henderson, 18m on Johnson, 24m on Downing, and 8m on a fat scot as examples. He also said, at least we are not Villa, and teams would be better off if they had 11 Phil Neville's"

A single tear rolled down my cheek at the thought of a team full of Phil Nevilles...I'm traumatised for life.

Match tickets are ridiculous. £39 to sit behind a pillar? And the clubs with ponsey new stadiums where you can like, see everything (weird I know) are even worse. It's like well over £50 to see Arsenal and Chelsea etc.

Not that I was born, but if I was I'd like to have a reflective moment on the days where I could get a bus from Wavertree, get a ticket for The Paddock, have a few beers and get the bus back all for a 5a.

Halcyon days indeed, but let's not forget that those days were also the times of diseases like gout, rickets, and syphilis.

I think we've got the better part of the deal living in our Permiership era utopia.

For some of us, these are still the days.

I remember the 'glory days' of being a Junior Evertonian and getting into the ground for 4 quid....then after the cup final tickets fiasco when I missed out on a ticket to despite going to every home game and a healthy smattering of away games (grrr), I got my first student season ticket for just 105quid. It seems like a lifetime ago that prices were that low...when in reality, it wasn't that long ago!
