Ok, ok... I've been away way too long, but here I am with my thoughts of this season.

With regards to the depth and injuries of this season I give our performance a solid 8/10. We did manage to finish fifth again even with the lousy start to the season and an injury list the length of Abramovitch's checkbook. We did manage to grab points of all the "top 4". We reached the FA-Cup final and didn't have an easy way there either. We beat AV, Pool and ManU on the way, all 3 of them going into Europe this coming season, and gave Chelsea a good game in the final.

The only reason I'm not giving a higher score is the bad run in Europe. Yes we faced a good side in Standard Liege, but still... to get a higher rating we should have managed to reach and pass the groupstage at least.

But the early europe bow out might have been a blessing in disguise since we then could focus on the league and got our great run there. With the number of injuries we had this winter our players would have been burned out with the extra matches we would have had with the international games added.

Rodwell and Gosling have emerged as two more players that have showed that they can compete at the highest lvl, Fellaini doesn't collect yellow cards as a fat lady grabs candybars anymore and we have shown a mentality too bounce back from trailing behind to win games this season.

All in all a solid 8 for me.

I would give us a 7, possibly I am being more harsh because I am still gutted of the events a few hours ago. We went from a game or two outside the top 4 to three or four wins outside.

As long as we have Osman (who I have been a fan of) in that team, we can't push forward, the guy just can't match it with the top four teams, he just looked totally out of his depth. We also need to have a good right back. Hibbert is too slow, his got one pace and thats jogging, Chelsea exposed that right back as our weakness and it stood out like a broken toe. Also he can't cross the ball for peanuts. Baines has been superb on the left and if we could get a similar type on the right we would be perfectly set up in the back.

We have some good kids coming through but we have too much dead weight we need too lose if we are going to push on.

We have too much dead weight? Not something I'd associate with Everton... these players that aren't good enough for starting XI (basically just the right flank) will make perfectly good squad players so they're certainly not dead weight, especially Ossie who is half decent at CM so could cover there

My deadweight: VdM, Casillo & Valente (even though he has been very good for us previously, now he isn't)

Fair enough, we do need to look at expanding the squad though rather than shrinking and if we could get Valente on a low wage I'd keep him

The reason hibbert got the yellow was because he was being skinned, it was happening before the yellow card.

didn't see it properly from where i was sat and haven't watched the tv, but his positioning was awfull throughout the first half.

Tony Hibbert has to go and he HAS TO GO NOW . The apologists can can excuse him allday long ive had enough of seeing him in an Everton shirt .

Very harsh, he has been injured for a few weeks and Moyes threw him in against a very good player in Malouda. Still easily our best right back

That is THE biggest load of s***e ive ever read on here . Frankly so wide of the mark its laughable .
