For anyone who knows the movie, the task where they have to get to the subway and answer the phone before the train explodes and they decide to split up with Mclane going for the train itself and Zeus heading for the station. Zeus answers the phone at the station and because they are not together he blows up the train and in the aftermath Mclane says there was never a chance they could make it and the cast agree, when if he had of stayed in the cab with Zeus they both would have been there and the bomb wouldn't have gone off.

Hmm. As Die Hard Fan Boy I think this is actually wrong.

You've set it up correctly, but if memory serves me correctly, McClane says that as in Simon Gruber was going to blow the train up, no matter if they'd made it to the phone or not. That way they still would have had the distraction to get the gold.
