Skroob
Sarcastic Yank
As I put on my initial post, Tim is how I became a fan and have been a diehard one ever since. By far the best GK the USA has ever had, and maybe some others before my time as a fan, bound to be one of the best to ever play for the Blues too.
Anyway, I am bored haha so just wanted to share a time when I had a prolonged conversation with my favorite keeper.
It was back in 2017 and the USA had an open training session and there was a chance aftewards to meet some of the players(Though most went straight to the locker rooms without interacting with the fans at all smh). Anyway, I had on my Howard Everton GK shirt of course haha, and I was one of the last to see Tim right before he went in.
Now, most fans just got an autograph and went about their business. But me, I had driven a long distance to get to this session and wanted to engage Tim or heck anybody lol, in conversation. When he saw my shirt he smiled and said, 'Just a fan of me or me and the Blues?' I told him, 'Both, my good sir'(Not sure why I said it like that....but anyway). And we just dived into a conservation, probably lasting around 15 minutes or so, about the Blues, the USMNT, and just the sport in general. Eventually, a guy came up to him(I think security haha and sure he had been there the whole time but I just did not notice him) and Tim said he had to go, shook my hand, and off he went. He talked about how much he loved playing for Everton, how much the fans meant to him, etc.
One of the best days of my life I must admit friends lol.
Another reason I posted about this is that Tim's obvious admiration for the club even after not playing for the Blues anymore at that point is the same one I have and really everyone should feel about being a Blue: Through the ups and downs, the good and bad, us Everton fans stick together and need to continue to do so to bring this club back to where it belongs.
Any other Howard related stories will be greatly appreciated!
